Supporting Diversity - I live in Køge with my blended Danish-American family.  Recently, I decided to go back to school to better my opportunities to make a positive impact on my community.  I see Denmark's landscape changing, and many of the growing pains associated with a new diversity are similar to what America has gone through in the not-so-distant past.  I would very much like to be a part of the fantastic, harmonious future in Denmark that I know is possible.

If you are also working to make positive changes in our dynamic community, I would love to be of assistance to you in any way I can.  I often volunteer my services as a copywriter, Danish-English translator, teacher, or guest speaker (I'll even stuff envelopes, if that's what you need) for groups or individuals scratching away to support the new Denmark as a welcoming, culturally-rich fællesskab.

Please get in touch using the email key to the left, and let me know what you're up to, and how I can help.

Open Door Policy - We love our neighbors!  (We haven't met them yet, but we have high hopes, once the ground starts to thaw.)

In the US, we say things like "hey, I was just in the neighborhood", when we find ourselves standing unexpectedly on a friends' doorstep.  At our house, "I was in the neighborhood" is the secret password.  We always have coffee and time for a chat.  We appreciate the practicality and convenience of scheduling things ahead of time in mutually-beneficial arrangements, but when you move from one continent to another, you depend on friends to become your new family, with all the associated randomness and hoopla that makes things truly interesting.  So at our American house in Denmark, the door is open.  Come on by.

If we haven't met yet, send an email and introduce yourself!  You might also be new to the community, and looking for a friendly face in the crowd.  Maybe your kid is also new to the community, and would appreciate making some new friends - our kids are always excited about new friends to play with.

Thanks!
